Thornhill Governing Board 2018-19

  Welcome to Thornhill Primary School

The Governing board is made up of 10 members. Currently we have 2 parent governors, 3 co-opted governors including ourselves and 3 staff governors including the Head, Julia Lawson. We have 1 vacancy that we are hoping to fill shortly.

There is a wide span of skills, knowledge and experience which works well in creating a good team, with individuals taking on dedicated responsibilities. This ensures that all our aims and targets are met and that the Head and staff are well supported in their efforts to move our school forward. Thornhill had a monitoring Ofsted inspection in 2016 and we are delighted that it continues to be a ‘Good’ school.

Our next challenge is to improve attainment and progress in mathematics at the end of Key stage 2 so that we can retain our positive Ofsted grading.

Our School motto ‘Every child is unique and at the heart of everything that we do’ forms the basis of our work as governors.
